In her own right, disco-jockey Beth Grace has been a regular on the gig circuit since ’14, when she took on getting behind the decks, rather than the biddie begging for song requests. With her eyes set abroad, nothing is stopping her. She describes a ‘bucket list’ of venues and festivals that are on her ‘TO-DO’ list, (Yes… she went there)

SIMON SALERNO (USM Mentor)

His Music has been played & supported by the likes of Maseo (De La Soul), A-Trak, Anna Lunoe, Tommie Sunshine, Stanton Warriors & Timmy Trumpet. This exposure lead to a string of high profile remix opportunities for artists & bands Savage, Guy Sebastian, Alpine, Accadamy, Arthur Baker, Jam Xpress & Rob Pix.

Simon has since achieved many accolades, some of which include supporting high profile artists Snoop Dog, Mylo, Hardwell & Deorro at festivals all around the country at Stereosonic, Summadayze, Future Music Fesitval & Parklife to name a few. But this is not the end of his story; he has learnt the craft of audio engineering, to provide an experience in the studio, to accompany his musical talent, gelling his skills together, to cross boundaries and keep pushing forward and to find that new undiscovered sound that sparks interest with his trained ear. There is no doubt that Simon is accomplished in his skill, knowledge and talent, he is full of passion, encouragement and vision, for himself, as well as mentoring the future generation of artists to help guide them along on their journey in today’s evolving music industry.

2017 Sonic Presence DJ Competition Results

The inaugural 2017 Sonic Presence competition was a resounding success with the aim of providing a platform for budding artists to share their sound in front of industry professionals.

Since the Sonic Presence DJ competition, Leon Mallia (1st Place), Miky Yeah (2nd) and Daniel George (3rd) have earned their success, this includes exclusive radio play on kiss, the release of three singles, building of their brand, club gigs and the chance to manage their own events.

2018 Sonic Presence DJ Competition Winner

At the finals of Sonic Presence, Luke Gelsumini went on to win against tough competition, with  all five contenders (three women and two men) leaving it all on the stage after mixing up everything from hip-hop to stadium rock. The judges declared it a tight race, but in the end Gelsumini’s silky transitions between the genres of rock, soul and dubstep saw him take the title. Artists he sampled in his set ranged from Freddie Mercury to Sade, with American DJ Getter and dubstep master Excision thrown in for good measure.
